The British wonder boy TOTALLY ENORMOUS EXTINCT DINOSAURS put out his brand new EP “HOUSEHOLD GOODS“ this last week and I am in absolute love.  Oozing with diversity, T-E-E-D has had no problem capturing the heart of Indie, Electro, Funky, and World Beat in a three-track barrage of next level sound.  The title track of this release, “HOUSEHOLD GOODS“, makes it feel like summer season is year-round.  The vocals are magnetizing, complimented by crisp bouncing synths and a hearty, crunched-up electro drop.  You must, and I do mean MUST, get this EP.  ——>BUY T-E-E-D’s GOODIES ON BEATPORT

T-E-E-D has been making my jaw hit the floor ever since I first heard his “ALL IN TWO SIXTY DANCEHALLS” EP this last May.  Not only was the EP an astounding gift (it happened to be released on my birthday 5-25-10), but a find that would keep me locked to every single move that T-E-E-D makes, and will ever make for that matter.

One of my favorites off of “ALL IN TWO SIXTY DANCEHALLS” is definitely “DIPPER“: an all-out Tech House hammerhead that will bring any 4-to-the-floor friendly crowd to an uprise.  Beyond his originals, TOTALLY ENORMOUS EXTINCT DINOSAURS, like any forward-thinking producer, has his remix game on lock.  You can check out the above named tracks as well as his big room club-crushing edit of FENECH-SOLER‘s “LIES“.

Oh my God… This man is serious business!

Goodness me! Look at you San Diego getting all big time!!!! Two members of Swedish House Mafia, HERE: In the SAME week!?!?!?

That’s right, this Friday, December 3rd at 4th & B, we’ll be welcoming a second and very honorary member of the global EDM phenomenon Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello, into town this week, for yet another epic night of luscious dance music! *So excited*

and, lucky for one of you out there, we’re celebrating this week of Swedish goodness with a….

FREE TICKET GIVEAWAY!!!!!
W
e’re giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky fan!!!!!! (Details Below!)

Steve Angello has been a very busy boy lately: In and outside the Mafia, Angello has been producing salacious and club-ready house music like an absolute machine. And over the past year Angello has traveled the world, delivering his own unique brand of enchanting big room house to masses upon masses of adoring fans, at the biggest festivals and dance music gatherings known to man.

Founder of Size Records, Steve Angello gets his sonic groove workin’ by delving his highly-masterful techniques into a host of various house music genres. Along with globally-notorious producers Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso under the pseudo Swedish House Mafia, the trio has demonstrated their quest for club floor domination and has begun taking over the EDM world. Even pre-SHM days, Angello and his other two SHM compadres were no strangers before their now pretty union; in fact Angello & Ingrosso are childhood BFFs! Since they were tall enough to reach the turntables, they have worked on numerous projects together, mastercrafting supremely adored music, under a plethora of names, that would be too tedious of me to even begin to dissect.

Nonetheless, respective to the individual himself, Steve Angello is perhaps one of the most celebrated producers in the world.  His body-quivering builds, infectious sonic creations, and his gratuitous big room drops never fail to create an immense sea of bliss-filled hysteria across the tens of thousands of EDM-adoring fans in attendance at his massive shows.

Out today on Beatport via Progressive Grooves, San Diego-based Producer and DJ Anthony Ross’ single “Feel Me” with a remix by Enton Mushi has received early support from Tiesto in his Club Life 188 mix, Matt Darey, Ant Nichols, Kid Massive, Miss Nine & many more.

The original Big room mix of “Feel Me” by Anthony Ross is an authentic deep tech floor-flooder: based around an oscillating sub bass, classic house rhythms, and proper house keys. The Enton Mushi remix takes the track to new levels in the Progressive House playground, resulting in one absolutely MASSIVE, lash-fluttering track.

Some of the most amazing underground indie dance acts, fun-step producers, French house machines, and even some of the world’s most renowned names will be gracing the urbanized and LED-lit landmarks of San Diego this chilly December. And I can find no better reason than to put my dancing pumps on and be positively jiggy about what’s to come!

**Because there are also a few events we can’t really divulge the details of quite yet, check back here for updates in about a week or so for a bit more added goodness as it becomes available for us to make public.**

Here are the highlights of what you need to be excited about coming up:

Tune in on Wednesday night from 8pm-10pm for Donut Fresh Dance Party on air! To be completely honest with you, I have no idea what to expect.

I was told the show’s concept was “like Soul Train with DJs” and “next level ishhh, iCarly w/techno & vodka”.
Since I like all of those things, I don’t see any reason for me not to do it? It should be an interesting experiment nonetheless.

Our homeslice Headshake will be guest DJing as well, so hop on board the MIXshake techno train and dial yourself into the show on Wednesday night!

This is one of the biggest shows that Voyeur has had to date. Axwell is one of the world’s most talented producers. The man is a hit-making machine. I literally cannot think of one track off the top of my head that didn’t absolutely make people go WILD after first listen.

As 1/3 of the global movement that is Swedish House Mafia, Axwell, along with Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso lead the dance world to the most exciting parties, infectious dance music, and newsworthy performances.

Axwell’s style is that uplifting house music that takes your mind to outer space. Now, think that and then combine it with Voyeur’s LED lightwall – umph. Multiple bodygasms.

Anthony Ross will be priming the dance floor for the evening with luscious heart thumping big room house and mesmerizing tech house drones. Ross’ “Feel Me” remix EP pt. II will be out this Tuesday on Beatport so you can imagine how that built up anticipation will translate across the dance floor. Let’s just say there will be a lot of faces on the floor that will need cleaning up; you’ll have to work extra hard to keep your composure once Ross unleashes those titillating, mind-melting drops. Don’t forget to bring a towel.

Tickets are pretty pricey for the show at this point, as ALL $20 AND $30 ticket presales have sold out (and did so over a week ago!). Tickets are 40 big ones however I highly encourage you to fork out the dinero and see this show. It’s going to be one hell of an epic night and you will be disappointed if you miss out.

Tim King Sound Board

It’s nice to always be at your service with a track or two daily from somewhere within EDM sphere. However, I know what you all really want: You want long, continuous streams of luscious new sounds, mixed with some ol’ familiar faves. Who doesn’t? Mixes get you through the day, get you pumped up for a sexy night out on the town, and get your heart pumpin’ at the gym. Mixtapes aren’t just music, they are a lifestyle — daily soundtracks for your day to day routine.

Now some mixes can be, well, poorly done, curated, and timed. Bad song selection, transitions, and exhausting lengths, can damper the whole production if not taken seriously enough or if they feel rushed. More importantly, and what some DJs seem to forget at times: Mixes are supposed to provide insight into the DJ or producer’s mind. Mixes are supposed to deliver tunes and sounds the DJ, him or herself know will make you go wild now; but they should also, bore insight into which direction he or she believes a particular sound will be taking us in the future.

DJs get access to the freshest tracks in the world, and it is their duty to present us with their  personal savvy — their attuned knowledge of new music; Not keep us drowning in the past with shitty Ghosts n’ Stuff mashups and “Show me Love” in general. (Don’t get me wrong I *like* those too, but there’s a time and a place for those dirty little sonic indulgences….)

Now what? So after HOURS AND HOURS of groaning through infuriatingly bad — like some SO bad that they were borderline OFFENSIVE — mixes, I have thus compiled my list of those few gorgeous aural gems I came across. The best of the best, from our very own San Diego tastemakers, from behind the decks and in the studio — mixes made for you.

Don’t be quick to disregard: San Diego is absolutely TEEMING with outstanding talent. In my opinion, one or two of these mixes below could be easily mistaken for a production that came from any world class, Beatport-charting talent. You’ll know it when you hear it. So have a listen for yourself below:

YES YES YES!!!!!!!

Bassnectar and Datsik have combined forces and produced a massive dancehall slingin’ wobble-heavy Caribe-step track that I’ve instantly fallen in love with. So whompy and fine.
