¡BAJATON! Presents: Sazon Booya Feat. MYSTEREO + Black Tongues + More at El Dorado 12/7

My very favorite time of each and every month is very fast approaching!!! There’s no day that I look forward to more than the first Wednesday of every single month as means one thing, and one thing onlllyyyyyyy: ¡¡¡¡BAJATON!!!!

IF YOU DON’T KNOW BY NOW WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN?!, ¡BAJATON! is our monthly celebration of tropical sounds surrounded by all of our lovely forward-thinking friends inside of  our very favorite San Diego haunt – at El Dorado Cocktail Lounge. And this month is certainly no exception cuz we’ve really out done ourselves this time.. Cuz we refuse to close out this year with anything less than one absolutely top-notch BANGer!!!! We’re exasperated with delighted and totally honored to have [deep breath] NYC’s SAZON BOOYA!!!!!!! Along with their legendary hypeman/international masked man of mystery MYSTEREO headlining our 4th edition of ¡BAJATON!

I could honestly go on for hours (and I have) about the many reasons why SAZON BOOYA not only excite my aural senses on so many levels but also FASCINATE THE HELL OUT OF ME. SO INSTEAD, I’ve chose to subtly label TEN TWELVE worthy points of interest that I believe would invoke a degree of fascination out of just about anyone – moombah lover or not.

For one thing, (1) the two incredibly cool dudes of Sazon Booya, Mr. Vega & DJ SAV, have been producing together for LESS THAN A YEAR. And yet (2) their first single ever, “lluvia” was debuted on moombahton’s founding father, DAVE NADA‘s website and Soundcloud. Not sure if it’s just me, but I sure as heck can’t name one other artist whose FIRST TRACK EVER was initially debuted by the CREATOR OF THE GENRE ITSELF?!?!  Sazon Booya continued making news-worthy moves by (3) dropping the first EVER Moombahton music video for their single “La Bomba” which no-less zealously (4) premiered on their friend Skrillex’s Facebook page shared by over 1.7 million fans.

Alright, alright. So SOME people may or may not know fully “get” the whole Moombahton thing yet. And that’s cool… So what makes Sazon Booya relevant and equally worthy of note to everyone outside the Moombah realm!?

FUCKING HEAPS!!!

Between countless and furious all-nighter studio benders, DJ SAV, one half of Sazon Booya, (5) runs his video production company: One & Only Productions. The video production company renowned for a few worthwhile projects, including THE ELECTRO WARS: the groundbreaking documentary that was featured on Pitchfork.com earlier this year that explored the evolution of the Electro genre amongst the American audience over the past three years – (6) directed by Stephen Vasquez; aka DJ SAV himself. Although Vasquez is hard at work and anxious to finish the forthcoming sequel to Electro Wars, RETURN OF THE SYNTH, he couldn’t reasonably turn down the jaw-dropping offer from arguably EDM’s most universally-recognized icon (7) Skrillex when he asked Vasquez and his team to be his primary film crew for his world and his North American-wide Mothership Tours. Since then, Vasquez and his team have not only followed Skrillex around the world at each and every one of his tour stops, but he has also added a few extra notches to his fancy belt when he filmed and directed (8) Skrillex’s “Rock n Roll” music, and (9) ALL of fellow moombah-giant Dillon Francis‘ latest videos for his single “I.D.G.A.F.O.S.”

Although still based in the big city,  Mr. Vega keeps himself no less busy than his other production half; not only (9) putting out his own solo releases under the name MR. VEGA but also (10) running and managing premiere dance music record label, Rot10 Musik: which distributes no less than one charting Beatport release per week and is responsible for introducing the world to some of the moombah realm’s most promising emerging talent.

And despite intense, globally-spanned high-profile tour obligations & top-tier talent labels to run, together Sazon Booya are consistently breaking sonic ground and tirelessly working in the studio to keep up with the endless amount of remix offers and compilation work they have thrown their way. Not only have Sazon Booya failed to skip a beat, as a matter of fact, they seem to be at least 3 steps ahead of the industry beat. THEY HAVE TRANSCENDED THE BEAT.

Less than 4 months following their previous EP release “La Bomba,” and dotted with at least two dozen singles in between, Sazon Booya eagerly released their latest, “Moonlight EP” off Rot10 Musik last week: (11) Their Moonlight EP, merely 4 original tracks deep, is arguably one of the most impeccably well-rounded and stunning releases the Moombahton realm has seen to date. And such noteworthy achievements rarely go unnoticed: Dozens of top-tier music blogs (including this one) instantaneously sung their praise around the EDM realm and the response across Beatport charts was no less enthusiastic. After only 24 hours the release hit #48 the charts; and (12) seven days later, they have skyrocketed all the way to the #4 position on Beatport’s ELECTRO HOUSE charts!!

And, I haven’t even started to talk about Sazon Booya’s biggest fan of them all: their hypeman, MYSTEREO.

WHO IS MYSTEREO?! TO BE FRANK, I haven’t the slightest idea. WHAT I DO KNOW IS  Sazon Booya’s masked man of mystery evokes waves of incomprehensible pleasure over the masses, instilling a great and inconceivable sensation of maniacal tingles and electrifying bad behavior-inducing chills to all those who witness his momentous and graceful performances.

Along with SAZON BOOYA + MYSTEREO, we are also honored to be hosting another rapidly emerging moombah-centric shining star duo BLACK TONGUES for their FIRST EVER San Diego show!!! But what makes this addition EPICALLY COOL, is the fact that our headliner Sazon Booya, did an ahhhhhmazing remix of Black Tongues’ “LA FIESTA”, and actually it’s definitely one of my personal favorite moombah releases of the year! But WHOA. Talk about inner-event *SYNERGY*!!!!
