If you’re looking for a little dive bar with great pizza that channels the New York state of mind, we’ve got you covered. Blind Lady Ale House in Normal Heights has that brick wall, hardwood, and low-lighting that has Manhattan written all over it. Blind Lady also offers a selection of creative pizza topping combos that you wouldn’t find in any ol’ pizzaria.

All pizzas are personal size and have a thin crust that glistens with olive oil, *sigh.* Their pie spectrum goes from your run-of-the-mill margarita to bacon, egg and swiss chard -which sounds a little strange, but is actually downright amazing.

The kitchen also offers small plates:
- A simple olive mix that tastes anything but.
- Steamed mussels: These tender little babies are doused in salsa verde and served with garlic toasts.
- And a variety of salads that could give the pizza a run for its money. Their stand-out salad has apple, persimmon and ham hock-stewed chickpeas! If that’s not innovative ruffage, I don’t know what is.

Blind Lady’s menu is conscious to seasonal changes and all ingredients are local, so check back often to see what’s new!

It is, however, very ‘San Diego’ when it comes to the beer selection. Blind Lady offers dozens of bubbly craft brews at any given time, and are “Honest Pint” certified. WARNING: The following may very well piss you off a touch. Pretty much EVERY bar you you’ve been to and will go to does not serve you the full 16 ounces. (one pint). Unless the bar is ‘Honest Pint‘ certified, like Blind Lady Ale House, they can get away with serving you however many ounces they’d like; and probably murder too.

Mix Tip: Try the House Chorizo pizza; the spice is very nice!

*Check out Blind Lady on Saturday and Sunday from 1130am -5pm when they serve up Margarita pizza and a 60 oz pitcher for a mere $18.39...Whaaaaaaa?
