It’s a good year for electronic music in San Diego with amazing musical guests being brought in from around the world that are internationally recognized for their talents… BUT…very rarely are there local shows with bigger name LIVE electronic acts in smaller venues in town, and even local live talent can gouge the pocket in vain… I am dead set on changing things in town by the end of the 2010, and August 21st at The Beauty Bar, San Diego, an unprecedented line up will raise the bar for local promoters and set in motion a series of quality live electronic parties featuring some of the hottest up-and coming talent before they blow up and  inevitably join the mainstream concert circuits…

While one of Australia’s most internationally known bands, Van She is on a well-deserved hiatus, Bassist Matt Van Schie has taken the opportunity to focus on his solo work. In February 2010, his EP Balmy Nights was released to the world… And in the height of summer 2010.. I vote “Balmy Nights” as my choice for best summer album.
