TheMixster.com will be lending our festival crusading skills and repping TheMusicNinja.com this weekend at ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL!!!! And we couldn’t be more delighted to hit the great EDM frontier in Vegas!! Check out our full-on preview of some of our don’t-you-fucking-DARE-miss acts and free tuneage from our top select epic artists HERE!!!

Also here are a few extra we’d like to add to the list!!

THE GLITCH MOB

This LA-based three-piece sent out a super ambiguous and equally frustrating email the other day with simply a subject line stating “We Can Make The World Stop”; the message itself contained only one photo (above) and one simple line: “July 12th”. Stuff like this gives me terrible EDM have-to-know-it-all anxiety. But knowing well the unmatched powerhouse stamina these guys have inside the studio, I’m going to assume the best and say WE HAVE A NEW GLITCH MOB ALBUM ON OUR HANDS PEEPS!!!!
And I don’t doubt that their live set at EDC will be absolutely RIDDEN with new tracks and epic new tunes. YES.
THE GLITCH MOB – Saturday 9:30-10:30pm: cosmicMEADOW

SKREAM & BENGA:
If you were present for the magnificent occasion that was MAGNETIC MAN at Coachella, and their first EVER live performance in the States, then every aural crevice inside your bass head should be quivering with sheer ecstasy at the very thought of this illustrious pair taking the stage. Two-thirds of Magnetic Man, aka Skream & Benga, will be double-dominating the EDC decks and they’ll be using every tool in their filthy bass arsenal to drive your helpless body fucking bonkers. You’d be an absolute fool to miss this experience.
SKREAM & BENGA – Friday 1:30am – 3:00am: bassPOD

BENNY BENASSI
Even I have to take a break from my beloved array of screeching growls and bit-crunching stabs. Thus I’m going to take a delightful walk, perhaps I’ll even skip over to the Kinetic Field on Saturday night to catch Benny Benassi’s set as he throws down his usual can’t-help-but-smile-while-you-boogie sets, with an über healthful abundance of new tracks from his new album ELECTROMAN out now on Ultra Records. Nothing beats seeing an EDM legend, still dominating the world with a whole new insurgence of top-notch tunes. Gotta show the pioneer some love.
BENNY BENASSI – Saturday 12:00am-1:30am: kineticFIELD

So we’ve already been over how especially magical Kaskade’s performance was this year at Electric Daisy Carnival. Well here’s a perfect footage of that memory: That has preserved a particularly special selection from Kaskade’s killer set, with, surprisingly, phenomenal sound and video quality.

A collaborative effort between Justin Michael (on Ultra Records w/Kaskade, Deadmau5, etc.) and Kemal has resulted in a gleefully swoon-worthy remix of Kaskade’s track Don’t Stop Dancing”, which is precisely the listening selection you have been provided here. (Or after the Jump!)

Day two was our day to explore the inner depths of the Electric Daisy Carnival — as the day before we found ourselves somewhat trapped inside the Coliseum’s gates.

FOUR other stages existed beyond the Coliseum’s gates — Cosmic Meadow, Circuit Grounds, Bass Pod, and the Neon Garden. One had to explore the Bass Pod, as it stationed in the very exact center of the carnival, there was little one could do to avoid it, so between sets it only felt right to embrace it.

An event wildly different than the Coachella-esque style that I’d been somewhat expecting, Electric Daisy Carnival was in a world entirely all its own. Whereas Coachella was more on the Hipster spectrum of vibe and style, EDC encompassed the epitome of every raver stereotype, come to life — and you were surrounded by nearly hundreds of thousands of them for 48 hours of pure fluorescent-lit, neon-glo rave hysteria — although a far more controlled chaos than that of Coachella.

I really don’t see why you wouldn’t?

Instead of by stage, we decided to engineer our very own guide of line-ups: Organized day by day, with set time schedules for EDC, all lined up pretty and perfect; and we even included a venue map at the bottom of each (why didn’t anybody ELSE think of this?!?!) — So you wouldn’t be lost trying to navigate your way through the crowds and carnival madness.
And we decided to share this little treasure with all of you as well — it would be rude not to right?!

So we’ve already formatted it so that it will fit absolutely perfectly on a sheet of paper — so you can stick this pretty little piece in your back pocket for frequent referencing throughout your adventures in electro wonderland…

If you’re still looking for the most amazing Electric Daisy Carnival-themed mixtape for the car ride and the after party, you’ll find the best one right here.

Still iffy about what’s allowed and what’s not, what to wear, how to deal with transportation, parking, or just need a great reference guide for the weekend?! Check out our Electric Daisy Carnival Survival Guide right here for ALL the answers!

You’ll find the guide for Saturday, after the jump.

Electric Daisy Carnival is more than just any music festival or an underground dance music rave — it’s all that PLUS amusement park rides and carnie folk. Yep. It’s pretty weird. But the line-up, especially this year’s line up, boasts probably the most impressive round up of the world’s best DJs and producers who are at the top of their game, and will be together — all in one, same place. This year’s line-up went over and beyond anything I had expected — or actually could mentally prepare myself for, following all that Coachella desert madness.

But regardless of the excitement that lies ahead and probably the most worthwhile $120 bucks you’ll drop all summer, there’s always ways to ensure you have the MOST fun possible. Thus, we’ve responded to our call for duty, and although we are just as fiendishly excited with quivering knees for EDC as you all are, we’ve taken a step back and created a special go-to survival guide, for you to refer back to often throughout your electro wonderland of adventures;
So you’ll always be in the know, thoroughly prepared, and for those times when you’re a little lost, this will be the key that will get you where you need, no, where you should be during this 48 Hour Bender.

UPDATE: SET TIMES ANNOUNCED!!!!!! SEE BELOW!!!!!

Breakdown:

1. Not-So-Obvious Prohibited Items
2. Nicole’s NO FAIL Do’s and Don’ts for EDC Success.
3. Transportation Tips & Very Important Phone Numbers!
4. Insider Parking tips AND map.
5. Line Ups by Stage
6. Venue Map (coming soon)
7. Set Times and Schedule
8. MIX Picks MUST SEE’S
