The Headtron crew has been responsible for some the most gangstafingly innovative, and out of this world productions the bass world has yet to hear and quite frankly feel. The energy and depth of production put into each and every track becomes quite obvious with each listen. And the best part is, you’ll notice new subtleties within each track the more you play it. Each and every one of the artists on the Headtron label deserves every bit of your aural attention but this post will feature new tracks by ChrisB. and Gladkill. (These two Headtron juggernauts joined forces to birth their project “More Champagne.” So keep an eye out for more tunes under that name.)
ChrisB.’s remix of ‘Shut Her Down’ takes Anneka’s perfectly soothing vocals and launches them to a planet far, far away. This is one of the most intricately designed tracks I’ve heard in quite some time, but this should come to no surprise after becoming familiar with the rest of his tunes. This guy is an absolute monster and continues to improve with time. Keep an eye out for Chris as he helps propel The Headtron Agency to a whole nother level.
Anneka- Shut Her Down (ChrisB Remix)
Gladkill always seems to hit that G spot with each release. A couple weeks ago, he released his purp’ed-out collab with pOSH. This gangsta remix of Pimp C ft. Mike Jones and Bun B is perfect to soak in over the fumes of a nicely rolled swisher. I seriously cannot stop giggin’ to this track.
So, “relax and takes notes…”
*Watch out for this tune’s upcoming release on Seclusiasis’s Street Bass Bootlegs Vol. 2!!

Haha as if the original video for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs‘ “Garden” wasn’t hipster enough already, TEED definitely has completely and utterly hiked up the ▲ levels for this version. It’s pretty weird. Although it’s really not any more bizarre than my tumblr.
Needless to say, it doesn’t make me ANY LESS OBSESSED with the guy. Or this track.
In fact this track is so amazingly ahhhhhhhmazing, that TEED has decided to re-release “Garden!” No doubt much due to the fact that the track didn’t receive the attention it so unbelievably deserved the first time around. Included on the “Garden EP” along with the original track that features the lovely vocals [I could literally immerse my body in] from Luisa of Lulu & The Lampshades, will be a host of accompanying remixes from SOUL CLAP, JOE GODDARD (of Hot Chip), HACKMAN and MYNC, to fully round out (and legitimize) the package.

A treat indeed.
TEED released the first remix off his forthcoming EP (due out October 2nd on Polydor Records) from JOE GODDARD about 2 weeks ago on his Soundcloud.

However, personally I am most looking forward to the ‘Like it’s ’97′ reflip from self-proclaimed “Outerspacers” (or Boston’rs, depending on the limits of your imagination) – from the groove house duo SOUL CLAP.
After being consumed with curiosity, which was immediately followed by some pretty comprehensive interweb hunting, I’ve found a sample of SOUL CLAP‘s “Garden“ remix, provided below:

Clap your hands, it’s time to get down and F-U-N-K-Y!
Ed Banger’s Breakbot has shimmy’d this in our direction and it’s positively boogieworthy. Bright synths, plucking bass, and Ruckazoid’s neo-Michael-esque vocals make this groovy jive a stellar, beneath-the-sparkly-disco-ball-and-all-night-long little number. Wave goodbye to shufflin’ this track is ALL about the disco. Can ya dig it?

Editor’s Note: I decided to send our intern by himself on his first adventure to our favorite hipster haunt EL DORADO COCKTAIL LOUNGE. The same night 12th Planet was going to be playing a surprise set. In other words, on an evening of sheer, unrelenting mayhem. Knowing full well the magnitude of chaos and energy inside El D during DUB DORADO, it potentially could have been dangerous. However, because I was en route to Miami for ULTRA while this momentous special event was taking place, I had to send someone to witness report on the madness and sheer aural magic that was 12th Planet’s surprise debut at DUB DORADO at EL DORADO in San Diego. I’m just really hoping I don’t receive an angry call from his mother about this.

Got anotha little selection here! And you know they’re good. Let’s just say that college has been a little drab for the most part. I didn’t rush, I hardly ever party, I just wasn’t getting the satisfaction I craved. So I knew I needed to change things a little to mix it up. Not sure where to go, I pursued an internship with www.TheMixster.com, unaware where it would take me. I can honestly say it has NOT taken me where I anticipated. It’s taken me farther.
Expecting to find the grimy, dirty culture I was surprised at how much San Diego feels like a home. When it was suggested I go to some cocktail lounge on 11th avenue I’d never heard of, I figured I was just being steered to another small bar where the sports on the TV are the most exciting thing in the place. Instead I found a family. A bar crowded from wall-to-wall with people who knew each other, and were there to honestly enjoy the beats being thumped out of all the stacks of JBL’s. Inspired by my eye-opening week, where I experienced my first time at El Dorado (the shit), and was introduced to the sounds of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, AND made a few new friends here and there, I’m quite proud to say these tunes will always bring me back to my EL DORADO DAYS!!!! So without further adieu, let’s listen to some music.
