Approximately 48 hours ago feverish-twitch was felt around the bass world: when South London-based trio, Dark Sky, dropped their single, Zoom, from their fiercely-anticipated forthcoming EP, Black Rainbows, on the Black Acre imprint. And, what appears to be, in its full track entirety.
As a follow-up to their highly revered Radius EP last year, Black Rainbows will present a total of four new tracks, seeking to re-engage the sonic programme of the global club climate, allowing for the amplified insurgence of the trio’s renowned percussion-driven wall-to-wall fillers. The result, will be a delivery of, according to blogosphere rumor, “a batch of advanced lazer-tech dancefloor smashers with a noir edge.”
Zoom, the first to emerge officially from the set, is an atmospheric course in future garage: integrating progressive stabs in reverberating melodic fashion, voluminous basslines, and techy key grooves that cause aural quivers, almost like fidgeting puddles of sound, eerily scattered about the club.
The full lot is set to drop on March 26th.
