EXCLUSIVE: Crystal Method-”Black Rainbows (Bubblegum Sci Fi Remix)”

****AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY ON THEMIXSTER.COM: NEW BUBBLEGUM SCI FI REMIX **
******THE CRYSTAL METHOD – “Black Rainbows (BUBBLEGUM SCI FI REMIX)”******

San Diego-based DJ duo
, Bubblegum Sci Fi, have produced a handful of electro-dance remixes that have transcended  across the electro-blogosphere and have even fallen into the hands and set lists of the world’s most recognizable deck masters, including Kaskade, Paul Oakenfold, and Andy Moor.

However when their remix of Passion Pit’s track “The Reeling fell on the HypeM.com charts, Bubblegum Sci Fi absolutely shook the order of DJ-hierarchy- challenging the reworkings of the same track by the electro-world’s top sonic-engineers, including Calvin Harris.

Bubblegum Sci Fi’s Passion Pit remix captured the number one spot on The Hype Machine – staking out supreme aural and symbolic claim over the entire site’s audio machine itself, but most notably over Tiesto’s track “Escape me“. Beating out Tiesto, who’s (ambiguously) ranked as the #1 DJ in the world, and bidding him and his infuriating private jet adieu at #2 Is a BIG fucking deal. Ineffably so, if you’re a unknown hipster DJ duo from, seemingly, electronically-aloof San Diego. The stir caused DJs, bloggers, and listeners alike to turn to one another, exchange WTF glances, and frantically pry away at Google to figure out who this duo was that was causing this disco-whirlwind– and who sounded so positively jiggy whilst doing so.

Consisting of Anthony Ross (a.k.a. Grey Ghost by electro-head insiders) - Voyeur’s resident Friday night DJ and his more locally ubiquitous counterpart DJ Groundfloor-most notably found at El Dorado Saturday nights, Bubblegum Sci Fi has continued to make strides in the producing field: Whether it’s re-imagining dance-minded breaks or unapologetically twisting pretty good songs until they become fucking awesome, highly-addictive bangers, they are hyper-focused on developing their own unique style –which has already noticeably taken on an aurally distinctive quality that is progressively becoming uniquely their own.

Available exclusively here, courtesy of the unbelievably talented DJ duo themselves, Bubblegum Sci Fi, is their remix of- The Crystal Method’sBlack Rainbows”: A deep-house, fist-pump-worthy body-bender, infused with spacey reverberations and electronic whimsy, that without question, has the makings as another potential HypeM hit. The cool, sonic glo-trance, intertwined with the mesmerizing tranquility of Stephanie King Warfield’s vocals in the original, is invigorated with a catchy percussion break; that almost mimics the foreground loop in Fedde la Grand’s “Put Your hands Up“– in the sense of it’s thoughtful use of audible pauses — and gives it that lovely, danceable quality Bubblegum Sci Fi smartly recognized The Crystal Method’s original version lacks, and thus undoubtedly demands.
Simply put: Be prepared for this track to stand prominently on the local, and national electro radar, for a while – because this remix is straight-up aural candy that will be sweetening up the sound scape and causing a wave of smiles across dance floors, all over the scene– well into the late days of summer..

This Saturday night (May 8th) at El Dorado Cocktail Lounge, Bubblegum Sci Fi will be dipping their filthy fingers into no-good — dropping bangers, soiled with aurally-chaotic intentions, and instigating a campaign of good times. Bubblegum Sci Fi will be priming the vibe for the absolute electro-lashing that Computer Club will be throwing down on the decks and unrelentingly unleashing onto the crowds. COLOURVISION will also be stirring up some audio mischief, kicking off the night of mayhem with disco-centric devices and boogie-worthy beats. Ben DeCamp a.k.a. TheStyleShark will be setting a nerd-themed photobooth (Editorial note: I <3 nerds.) that I will be frequently lurking… Which is totally acceptable because TheMixster.com will be hosting the festivities – meaning absolute awesomeness and muy espicy action is bound to go down.
RSVP to groundflooronline@gmail.com for free cover before 11pm. And prepare yourself mentally for wild night ahead…
