It’s a good year for electronic music in San Diego with amazing musical guests being brought in from around the world that are internationally recognized for their talents… BUT…very rarely are there local shows with bigger name LIVE electronic acts in smaller venues in town, and even local live talent can gouge the pocket in vain… I am dead set on changing things in town by the end of the 2010, and August 21st at The Beauty Bar, San Diego, an unprecedented line up will raise the bar for local promoters and set in motion a series of quality live electronic parties featuring some of the hottest up-and coming talent before they blow up and inevitably join the mainstream concert circuits…
Long Beach City Kids aka LBCK aka ALEX NOBLÉ + MIKE LUCÁS are a southern California-based DJ/Production duo that were recently signed to French electronic label On The Fruit Records. After releasing their first two original tracks, “Disco Thrills” and “Start,” the two became instant internet sensations receiving praise from countless blogs from all over the world, and gaining support from acts such as; Fare Soldi, Binary Ent, Bit Funk, Treasure Fingers, & even Breakbot this month at HARD Summer (WATCH VIDEO HERE). Their filtered french house sound and banging nu disco style and delivery have drawn comparisons to *Gasp* Daft Punk while still being awarded respect for their own distinct feel and energy, and with such momentum after only two releases, there is no stopping their eventual rise in the nu-disco /electronic scene. Their official video for “Start” has become a viral sensation as well, and for three main reasons; 1. it’s an amazing track, 2. there is gorgeous neon girl dancing, 3. visually stunning.. Watch it below, and huddle around the decks around Midnight August 21st at The Beauty Bar to catch their first DJ set in San Diego!
Human Life, the hugely successful LA based nu disco/dance fusion project by Matt Wasley, Racheal Starr, & Joshua Collins has been featured in MixMag, DjMag, and hundreds of blogs worldwide after the self release of their first single “In It Together” on LIFEX Recordings. They have gained support from the leaders of the nu disco scene including (but not nearly limited to); Aeroplane, Grum, and even French House Idol Alan Braxe, who has gone as far as to sign them on Vulture Records, his new French based recording label. Their music is a unique blend of nu disco, classic house, and modern pop with a 90′s rave veneer interwoven faintly into every song that is a true representation of the three members unique musical backgrounds and experiences. In September they will embark on a massive two month European tour with stops in Switzerland, France, The Uk, and Spain, but not before making their San Diego debut at the Beauty Bar, and hitting the Pacific Festival alongside; Alan Braxe, Classixx, Lifelike, and Miami Horror on September 4th in Costa Mesa. Check out their newly released video for “In It Together” and Don’t miss their LIVE set this Saturday at 11PM
