[Killa Mix] Valentino Khan – Guest Mix 019 Exclusive for LessThan3.com

I don’t usually find myself writing about mixes made exclusively for other sites… I feel like I’m breaking some unwritten blogger rule by even featuring it, but this mix Valentino Khan made for  LessThan3.com is too good not to big up on the site and I’m proud to do it!

Forthcoming on BOTH Mad Decent and Dim Mak, SoCal badman on the up & up Valentino Khan is the absolute fiercest bass monger I have heard come clawing through the moombah/electro realm like a sangre-thirsty jungle cat. This LA native flips the applause light to the on position taking his crate of booty-clapping originals, unreleased gems, and searing reflips, and throwing them into a wildfire medley of caliente moombah classics, and throwback favs; ranging anywhere from the techno to electro to WTF arenas. Especially worthy of note is his unreleased “Flare Gun” with oscillated barreling synth lines, syncopated weirdness, and a flurry of pitchy layers.

Not only is this exclusive mix for LessThan3.com a killa collection of sonic hype, Valentino Khan’s radio-show style voice overs on the mix make the mix both enjoyable and provide definitely a bit of necessary LOL. Artists take themselves too seriously. However not Valentino Khan: he is a straight badass behind the studio mixers and the decks, but in this mix you get a nice, very-welcomed pinch of this friendly fella’s genuinely sunny disposition; and of course a loud dosing of that ruuuuuude alarma bass kick that totally destroys upon impact.
