Anticipation has been pulsing through the air.
Everything, has built-up to this moment; a moment created by so many different things:
Every bass-shudder inside the indie clubs scattered throughout the city.
Every LED light flickering to the beat in the Gaslamp.
The passionate promoters who sacrificed the safety provided by their paychecks.
And of course, the sweat and determination of every restless DJ and Producer, ever-striving to put forth new sounds:
The time has come. And all signs point to : RADIUS.
THIS IS YOUR GUIDE to all things RADIUS FESTIVAL: San Diego’s Premiere Electronic Music Festival brought to you by REVEL.US – featuring a generous assortment of some of the world’s most outstanding talent. And it’s all happening this March 4th & 5th at the AEROSPACE MUSEUM in San Diego’s beautiful historic Balboa Park.
From dubstep, to electro, to house, to trance, all corners of the EDM sphere will be represented at RADIUS across two amazing nights of illustrious sounds and surrounded by thousands of delighted moving bodies.
World-renowned Swedish House producer Avicii aka Tim Berg will be topping off night ONE of RADIUS.
Last year was more than massive for Avicii: the epic Progressive Powerhouse collaborated with Sebastian Drums to sample Cassius’ “Feeling For You” to release original “My Feelings For You” which sent him skyrocketing straight into the EDM stratosphere! Since that release there has been no second chances and glances of falling him off the Beatport Charts in multiple categories of House, Progressive House, and Trance at any one time. If there is anything you need to know Avicii is 100% without any doubt in my mind what festival music should sound like in every way, shape, and form! Every thought is consciously and carefully chosen from his vocal samples to his chord progressions: check out “Sweede Dreams”, “Street Dancer”, and his remix for Armin Van Buuren’s “Drowning”. This will be a performance like you’ve never experienced in your life! If there was any other producer I could choose to relate his sound to it would be Deadmau5 and if there was only one word to describe his sound, I CHOOSE EPIC!
Also heading night on will be WIPPENBERG: German Trance legend responsible for the global hymn NEURODANCER.

RADIUS RADAR HIGHLIGHT: Miami-based up and coming 20-year-old powerhouse producer VAN TOTH will be making his San Diego debut at RADIUS FESTIVAL. With already play support across the global EDM sphere from world class talent including Tiesto, Laidback Luke, Afrojack, and after an exciting feature on Wolfgang Gartner’s own BBC Radio One Essential Mix, this is certainly an act at RADIUS that you know you shouldn’t miss. I personally for see enormous potential for Van Toth and I have no doubt in my mind that 2011 will undoubtedly be this young & talented producer’s breakout year.
If you haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet, check out VAN TOTH’s *RADIUS MIX* he made EXCLUSIVELY for RADIUS festival!!!

NIGHT TWO OF RADIUS: ELECTRO HOUSE AND DUBSTEP FEIGNS REJOICE!
French house legend and Ed Banger man MR OIZO will be headlining NIGHT TWO of RADIUS – with outstanding recent productions including the title track on ED BANGER RECORDS’ latest all-star release “Let The Children Techno” there is no doubt that MR OIZO is absolutely ready to shut down the system and instigate RADIUS-wide recklessness!!!!
Mr. Oizo – Let The Children Techno (Buy on Beatport)
LA-based live production trio The Glitch Mob will also be appearing on the RADIUS stage. And if you don’t know how phenomenal the last year has been for The Glitch Mob here’s your heads-up: After the unbelievably successful release of their full debut album “Drink the Sea”, a world tour, and a massive US tour where they appeared at some of the nation’s biggest festivals including Coachella and Electric Zoo Festival, The Glitch Mob have certainly hit the top and they certainly don’t intend to leave anytime soon!
Although it was unfortunate that The Glitch Mob missed San Diego on their most recent nationwide tour, the boys are making it up to us NOW: and are planning an absolutely massive show for us at RADIUS!!!! Seriously if haven’t seen the Glitch Mob perform live, you won’t want to miss this!!
Also on the bill for NIGHT TWO of RADIUS FESTIVAL, we have French mastermind Alan Braxe who has had one hell of a career that is only looking brighter! Starting off his career working in the 90′s under Daft Punk’s personal Roule’ label, he co-wrote timeless hit “Music Sounds Better With You” as one-third of Stardust. He started his own label Vulture producing alongside heavy-hitters Fred Falke and Kris Menace who together – are unstopppable. He is one of the most recognized Indie Dance/Nu-Disco producers to date, check out his remixes of big pop artists Justice and Annie to get a taste of what Alan Braxe brings to the table!
Now, onto RADIUS’ highly-anticipated grime DUBSTEP features: DATSIK and ZEDS DEAD
B.C.-based 21 year-old Datsik is certainly on the top of everyone’s list these days, as one of the bass world’s most sought after talents in the world. With a flurry of productions on a constant stream of releases, Datsik no doubt has a fully-loaded arsenal of sonic stun-guns that he’s more than ready to unleash onto the fiendish masses.
**RADIUS RADAR** check out Datsik’s latest drops here!!
Fellow Canadians and rapidly rising production duo ZEDS DEAD are also going to be infiltrating the RADIUS soundsphere on Saturday night and unleashing a bass-laden collection of shifty wobblers. Receiving massive attention after months of continual Hype Machine chart domination, ZEDS DEAD are on serious rise to the top, especially with their single “Rudeboy” that dropped off BBC Radio One’s Kissy Sellout’s label San City High and a collection of other blogosphere successes. Zeds Dead put on an absolutely unforgettable filthy performance last time they tore it up in San Diego, and personally I am anxious to see what these 22 year-old terrors will bring to the decks in the no-holds bar stage at RADIUS FESTIVAL.
Locals David Kim and RADIUS FESTIVAL creator Bryan McClanahan himself aka ‘TRACKONAUT’ will be throwing down opening sets to commence the revel and chaos that will be SATURDAY NIGHT at RADIUS FESTIVAL!!!!!!
*ALSO* keep your eyes peeled on TheMIXSTER.com as we’ll be releasing set times and venue info as it’s released!!!
