Disco Villains “La Boa”

This track came out just over the weekend and it is absolutely BANGIN’.

LIVE, the Disco Villains KILL IT. A little birdie, from a very trustworthy nest of information, told me that we can expect the Disco Villains to be back in San Diego, in North Park to be exact, in late August. In the meantime, take a small audio gander at this twisted little ghettotech tropical bender, that I’ve been thoroughly delighting in the past couple days.

Arrows- “Pretender”

I just recently was introduced to the upbeat, highly infectious sound and energy that is local electronic indie group Arrows. I think I’ve fallen in love all over again. Their positivity and vivacious vibe, each and every track they played at Soda Bar two weeks ago, and sadly there were only a handful of theses sweet little diddys, intertwined with every bit of love in my soul — and leaving me for wanting so, so much more. I’m crushing HARD. Needless to say: We are anxiously awaiting the release of their EP, which they’ve alluded may be ready for our audio lust soon.

BSODĀ  “This is the Hook (Original Mix)”

O man, you guys are absolutely going to lose it on me. Steve Duda, together with co-producer, and dear friend, Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5 combine to create the absolutely mind-blowing production/DJ team BSOD. This particular track, “This is Hook (Original Mix)” is super corrupt, it is going to totally distract you and send you right back into the deep, dark Sahara tent state-of-mind: Recurring dreams of that sparkling, C A P T I V A T I N G robomau5 head bouncing up and down, and its face melting into LED oblivion. Out of control. Steve Duda, on his own, is incredible. And, he will be in San Diego at RESETSD Festival June 5th at San Diego Sports Arena so he is most certainly worth bringing to your attention. His sets integrate mostly his own tracks, along with a few BSOD drops, while writing AND manipulating drum loops in real time. Like I said before, incredible. Buy your RESETSD tickets Here.

Uffie & Pharrell (Armand Van Helden vocal remix) – “ADD”

Everyone who is exposed to this sweet treat of a track will become a victim: Of love at first listen. And then that love becomes a fiend-like obsession; and chaos ensues. Let the dance party begin! This song is guaranteed to be strewn across the San Diego nightlife scene — in the matter of hours. You can quote me on that. Enjoy.

Scanners – “We Never Close our Eyes (Designer Drugs Remix)

A bit darker than Designer Drugs’ usual style, but their remix of Scanner’s track “We Never Close our Eyes” is still nothing short of boogie-worthy. But it does revert to that classic Designer Drugs’ whomp whomp synthesized break we all know and love, just to keep us loyal Designer Drugs fanatics happy, I suppose. And it most certainly does. Enjoy this track, it just dropped on Beatport today.

Afrojack & Sidney Sampson – “Quacky (Original Mix)”

This track has been gaining a significant amount of attention this past week on Beatport; and for good reason. It is a SOLID banger. HUGE basslines and eccentric synth chords that seem to mimic “quacking” (although, I may be just be reassuring myself of that– trying to “understand” Afrojack & Sidney Sampson’s title choice). “Donald Duck” is dropped in low tenor in random bits and followed by serious boogie breaks.

Although I must say: If any track that Afrojack has had anything to do with is truly “Quacky” I would have to point out that this track below could only result from habitually smoking “quack”…

Shhhh.… —-> This came out 12 hours ago. xoxo
