You’ve already heard so much about AWOL‘s hard hitting line up set to invade Cabo San Lucas Friday, October 8th to Monday October 11th. But insane, heart-racing dance music aside, Cabo is a beautiful destination where summer extends well past August. Think your magical hot nights have ended? Hardly! October is actually the start of Cabo’s tourist season, and what better way to keep your glow than to stay at ME by Melia? There is no doubt that AWOL is going to be absolutely absurd — with high energy music and beautiful crowds to boot, but we know you’re going to need recuperation time as well- enter the luxurious experience that is ME by Melia.

What to Find at ME by Melia: Nikki Beach, The Deck, Passion Club

Several well-known and internationally famous DJs have spun to massive and beautiful crowds at Nikki Beach. Known as “the place to be seen,” Passion Club is all about sexy vibes and mingling.

What to Wear to AWOL:

With the delayed summer we’ve had, I am sure you have a closet filled with summer clothing you’ve been dying to wear! In general, you’re going to want to wear loosely fitted clothing, that still oozes a bit of sex appeal!

Ladies, take tips from the kids who head to Coachella and go a little bohemian for your cover-ups and day wear. Think light weight tunics, colorful tanks and sun dresses, and adorable patterned rompers. The wonderful thing about bohemian wear is that it doesn’t clash with your bathing suit straps and you can can strip down when things heat up. A great swim wear line to think about is Owlchemy Society. Recently having been featured at THREAD Show, Owlchemy Society’s suits are absolutely adorable and can even be worn on their very own by the daring!

Tip to party goers: if you plan on dancing for a majority of the time – leave your accessories in your hotel room, I can guarantee you that they will get lost in the sand. Speaking of sand, one tip not to take from the Coachella kids: wearing boots. You’ll have a fugly tan line and it’s hard to maneuver in the sand w/them on anyway. Stick with cute sandal thongs and flip flops for the day. Save all cute accessories, boots, and heels for the nights you want to hit up Passion Club. Men – you gents have it the easiest. Board shorts, tank tops, no tops, loose v-necks. It’s your normal summer beach wear, but you can get a little funky with a pair of whimsical shades (just not those horrid Kanye Shutter Shades) or by playing with the length of swim shorts. Personally, I prefer guys to have their trunks above the knee. You look stocky if your Spongebob-patterned shorts are grazing your shins. You can also try a pair of denim shorts if you’re feeling extra hipstery-whimsical and daring. If you also plan on going to Passion Club during your stay at Melia, be sure to bring a pair of dark denim or shorts that aren’t so frayed. Bring a pair of nice sneakers or boating shoes – flip flops aren’t the most attractive in a lounge setting.

AWOL is set to be HUGE — but don’t forget about the beautiful resort you are staying at. It’s swanky without being too overbearing and the views of Mexico are absolutely gorgeous. Take your experience beyond the party music and enjoy the amenities, and do a little people watching while you are in Cabo – your trip will be that much better if you simply let it all soak in.
