FIREHOUSE American Eatery & Lounge : Sale St. Brewery (Auckland, NZ)
FIREHOUSE American Eatery, San Diego’s favorite upscale beach-vibe lounge, could not be more similar to Auckland’s laidback brew-lounge, Sale St. Both venues are great places known for their prime dining, drinking, playing, and networking opportunities. Huge outdoor seating offered at both locales equipped with dreamy lounges, fire pits, and a DJ spinning live to keep the vibe are what particularly makes these two venues, so unique to their locales, yet so alike in comparison. To bring attention to even more oddly similar nuances, are the colors, atmosphere, and even identical furniture outfitting both locales.
Squid fans rejoice- both Sale St. and FIREHOUSE offer the most delicious lightly battered chewy calamari dishes with their own selection of house made sauces.

FIREHOUSE is a MUST stop if you are staying in the Pacific Beach area, or if you want to dine as you watch the most perfect ocean view sunset. This savvy lounge provides the perfect juxtaposition of Miami Beach cool with San Diego’s laid back disposition: Dipped in black & red sophistication and cooled down by the ocean breeze, it’s no wonder industry professionals, locals, and families alike find so much to adore about Firehouse American Eatery.
Most simply put, the food is fantastic: Some standouts include the Seared Scallops served with a delectably moist parmesan potato cake topped with a melted fennel leek compote, toasted almond slivers and creamy arugula pesto- this dish is divine decadence. The lightly-battered calamari is served w/ a samba aioli & a tangy “Firehouse” sauce, I am dying to get the recipe for – it is delish!
If you’re looking for something lighter on the waist line but robust on the palette the Strawberry Blue Salad is to die for: Organic greens tossed with fresh strawberries, blue cheese, candied pecans in a balsamic vinaigrette is a legend among locals.
As an ode to the industry peeps, breakfast is served everyday until 3 pm – nightlife moguls need their sleep too! The Pecan Crusted French Toast is a personal favorite of mine…

Casual Cocktail-Upscale Attire
Located in the eclectic shopping neighborhood near Victoria Park, Sale St. is a fabulous place to stop for a gorgeous lunch in the sun, and a chic spot to lounge and sip cocktails by dusk.
Sale St.’s stylish modern elements combined with swanky designer furnishings creates a vibe that is uptown chic, that oozes casual cool. At night the atmosphere becomes almost magical as lighted elements such as golden intertwined globes hang from the ceiling and dim colorful lights ignite the nightscape with brilliant luminosity.
DJs spin lounge-y house beats to set the tone at all hours of the day. Upon nightfall things get a bit darker as the DJs start to drop those deeper electro & drum n’ bass beats.
The menu has heaps to offer: From deliciously tender calamari served with a tangy, rich sweet chili sauce, brick oven pizzas cooked and flavored to perfection, to offerings you can watch be prepared from their live Yakitori bar.
With 52 taps serving 13 different types of beer- including their own specialty micro brews- You can’t get a better “fresh from the brewery and straight to the tap” taste anywhere else.
Sale St.’s wine list also offers nearly 60 wines by the glass, and has a delicious selection of luscious libations to chose from as well. From the indoors list, chose the Lychee & Lemongrass martini for a exotic & sweet yet potent concoction to start the night off right. If you’re enjoying the night out on the patio lounges, the Moscow Mule is a refreshing classic that is sure to please any palette, while the Pineapple & Mint Daiquiri is a top choice for those with a bit of a sweet tooth.
On the weekend evenings, be sure to reserve outdoor lounges in advance– as they become prime real estate for socializing and intermingling by nightfall.
