SoundLogik.com Presents: Stephan Jacobs & The Polish Ambassador @ U-31 (11/22)

San Diego has been getting absolutely spoiled with some of the most talented, forward-thinking bass music producers out there. Just this past month, we’ve had Sugarpill, Billy Blacklight (a.k.a Profresher), Wala, Bird of Prey, and Minnesota perform here. We also have the extremely gifted ill.Gates and R/D touching down for their show on Dec. 9th.  Bass overload? I think so. Buuuut, providing the wompalicious cherry on top, Stephan Jacobs and The Polish Ambassador will be throwing down some glitch-hop, electro-funk, future bass, and ( . Y . ) step tonight (11/22) at U-31 courtesy of our friends at SoundLogik.com!

During my interview process for my position at TheMixster.com, I was asked which artist—in my opinion— was leading the charge for bass music. I answered Stephan Jacobs. Not because he was as popular as Skrillex or as good looking as me, but because he manipulated his massive sounds to create one of the most impressive and distinct repertoires of smashingly smooth tunes I’ve ever heard. Although I’ve posted about Stephan before and continue to write about him now, I feel words cannot do this man justice. His powerful presence on the tables and energy fuming from his tunes must be experienced in person. Only then, will you truly appreciate the talent, dedication, and essence of Stephan Jacobs.

Stephan Jacobs & Love and Light- Sound A Da Bass (feat Naada)

Metric – Gold Guns Girls (Stephan Jacobs & NiT GriT Remix)

Tag teaming with Stephan Jacobs to complete this show’s bangin’ double headliner is another one of my favorite producers, The Polish Ambassador. This powerhouse producer—droppin’ bass not bombs from Oakland— masterfully fuses together just about every genre out there to create a distinct futuristic bass brand. Every one of his tunes brings some sort of different type of swag into the equation. You never know exactly what you are going to get and that excites me. He is described as having beats “that will have you dropping that bottom like it was 92….3092, that is.” This just about sums up his gangsta steeze from the future. This Polish Ambassador is reppin’ his people like none other.

Bassnectar- Cozza Frenzy (Ample Mammal Remix) (Ample Mammal a.k.a The Polish Ambassador)
