Sunday, May 9th: The Twelves @ Voyeur

The Twelves with Grum and Brady Spear @ Voyeur

Out of their home base of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and into the goth-glam electro-haven, DJ duo The Twelves will be taking over the decks of Voyeur on Saturday night to throw down a live mixed DJ set: Juggling and jiggling everything from drum machines to keyboards, The Twelves pump out body-shivering impromptu remixes on the spot that’s simply impressive on all fronts. A lot of people think that The Twelves are “The Daft Punk of South America” but we don’t think they need that hype. Constantly on the fly with the mind-set and goal of trying to switch up their sets as much as possible, is what puts The Twelves in a league all their own.

The Twelves have remixed everything from Radiohead to Thieves Like Us to Fever Ray to Metric and even switching things up completely with their version of the 80s hit “Take On Me” by A-Ha. They’ve even remixed a Kylie Minogue song!

A strange little side note: Their name The Twelves comes from the fact that both of them were born on July 12th, 1980? Was it fate?! We think so… (even we can’t deny the magic of that hocus pocus fact)

GRUM
will be opening on the decks to get that disco-feeling vibin’ throughout the crowd.
Check out their fun and funky track “Can’t Shake this Feeling” below:
