The XX @ House of Blues: Tuesday, June 8th.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls prepare yourselves for a Tuesday night filled with dark brooding new-wave feel good beats being served to you by The XX. For those of you who haven’t had the chance to see this mystical trio perform live before,we hope you bought your tickets already to this amazing show since tickets are SOLD OUT! Hailing from London, England The XX originally met in school and the rest has been history! The soothing-yet-punctuated vocal trade-offs between female singer Romy Croft and male singer, Oliver Sim, is what gives them their truly unique sound. That, combined with the melodic guitar rifts and mesmerizing beats absolutely captivate you and leave you bewitched in their sound.

With the release of their debut album XX in the Summer of 2009 (which was recorded in a garage and produced by the band, mind you) they’ve gained instant success. Within the year they released four singles off the album and made their presence known everywhere from the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada to the hit TV show Gossip Girl. Rolling Stone even ranked their self-titled album as their pick for #9 BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR in 2009.

For those of you that didn’t get a chance to see them perform at Coachella this year they had a jam-packed crowd at just 6:30pm in the evening and absolutely killed it! Here is a video of them playing one of their hit songs (and one of our personal favorites) “Crystalised”

Here’s another video of a song we dig from the XX called “Intro”. This track was used for an AT&T commercial during the Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, Canada.

Doors open at 7:00pm and the show starts at 8:00pm, but we recommend still getting there early because the place is going to be packed!
