[TheMixster.com Exclusive] INTRODUCING: Sebby Frescoe – Señoritas Riddim

I’ve been anxious to post this track since the first time I heard it and I’m just so relieved excited I get to share this  incredibly gritty, bass groan-laden, yet smooth to groove to Latin mid-tempo track by ABQ-based producer, Sebby Frescoe, with the world.

I had the pleasure of seeing (and unabashedly getting WAY down to) Sebby Frescoe‘s set this past week, at our debut ¡BAJATON! in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and this city’s first ever Moombahton event >>> BURQUETON. Sebby opened up his set with an incredible collection of dubs and Latin cuts from Cumbia to salsa, and then proceeded to move into a brand new selection of almost entirely his own original Moombahton productions and mid-tempo barrio bass beats; he made just for the show. Start to finish, his entire set pretty much blew my mind. You’ll just have to take my word for it.

In the meantime, to get a better idea of his fresh and his unique perspective on the mid-tempo global bass sound, Sebby sent through one of his latest productions for us to give away exclusively to our readers: And I couldn’t be more hyped.

Señoritas Riddim feels familiar at first: gleaming trumpet horns and Old Mexico reminiscent percussion then proceed to intertwine with unexpected mid bass stabs, that burst through and strangely complement the multifaceted and vibrant layers of hand drums, timbales, and shakers. Sub bass lines rolling along at halftime produce percussion riddims that sound and feel faster than your typical 4/4 track, invigorating balmy vibrations and maintaining grooveworthy fluidity across the dance floor. Señoritas Riddim has a warm sense of tradition at its heart, with just a smidge of Burqueño proclivity for good measure.
