Why she’s cool: After realizing that her former employer’s news articles were heavily driven by marketing, Doms took matters into her own hands and started a website dedicated to the local scene. This one-woman-show dares readers to “mix things up” and try something new within San Diego’s eclectic culture of food, music and venues.

Best thing about her gig: “There are a lot of talented people in this city, and highlighting them on my site and giving them the spotlight that they deserve is the most rewarding for me.”

A huge thank you to Nicole Quiroz for taking the time to interview me and for writing such a thoughtful and well-written piece about myself and TheMixster.com! In so few words, she absolutely nailed it! Unbelievable!
And also an enormous thanks to Bradley Lamont for coming to The Hive and dealing with my quirky Mixster-isms during our photo shoot! He managed to successfully capture my goofy disposition and somehow still make me look pretty damn sassy as well.

I have been reading 944 Magazine for years and never in my right mind did I ever imagine that one day I too would be featured in my favorite publication. 944 has never failed to be always one step ahead of the mainstream media and on the cusp of breaking SD news. I thoroughly respect everyone at 944 for all their continuous hard work and dedication to great, edgy journalism. And of course, for always mixing it up and covering even the little facets of San Diego — and people like me!
This is far and away one of my favorite articles about The Mix to date.
