☛ ¡¡ BAJATON !! ☚ is a night that’s all about keepin’ it tropical even after the sun goes down. Frosty craft drinks, spicy beats, and a vacation-state of mind that keeps the vibe cool while letting ya unleash yo inner bad gal side.

We’ve been honored to host some of the most globally sought-out acts in the worldwide moombah realm at all our BAJATONs past. So for this special edition of ¡BAJATON! and to kick off 2012 we’re doing something different: this time, we’re keeping it SD BAJA FAM ONLY!!! With an aptly named occasion titled :: ☛ ¡LOCAL-TON! ☚ :: spotlighting the worthy handful of talented artists and DJs who reside right here in our sunny city.

Over the last couple of months we’ve seen a TREMENDOUS growth of influence and tropical production within our own neighborhood – and thus we wanted to give our locals a shot at showcasing sounds that perhaps they haven’t been able to fully embrace in the nightlife environment at other clubs/events around town. We made a call out to our tropical bass enthusiasts a month ago, and the response was OVERWHELMING! So after careful consideration, we were still only able to ween our list down to SEVEN incredible forward-thinking selectas; whom we believe no doubt need to be apart of the founding team that will set the bar for ¡BAJATON!’s AND San Diego’s high sonic standard for local mid tempo global bass in 2012!!!!!!

It’s hard to know where to begin when talking about the endlessly-talented EshOne aka DON VALDEZ so if ya don’t know what makes this guy such a charismatic and universally-recognized figure across the SD scene, check out his FB fan page & Soundcloud below. What **presently** puts Don Valdez at the top of our list is the near overnight success of his latest sonic undertaking, THE DON VALDEZ PROJECT; that has ascertained an astonishing and rapidly escalating presence within the moombah realm. Inspired by the cultural atmosphere of the new digs of his recent relocation to New Mexico, and feverishly encouraged by the imminent solitude of an unsurprising lack of NM nightlife, The DON VALDEZ PROJECT is EshOne’s incredibly distinctive and fresh sounding audio collection: that consists of both original moombahton productions and a whole separate arsenal; the contents of which embody a unique brand of sound, he self-coined as ‘Tijuana Bass.‘ We are unbelievably excited to debut the first ever live performance of the project, as well as host the highly anticipated return of one of our favorite long-time heroes of SD’s own local-EDM-sphere.

☛ DJ ETHICS

Hawaiian born, SD based producer, sound engineer, and DJ Ethics was introduced to electronic music production through the Jungle Dnb subculture of EDM. And 10 years later he has played with many EDM giants across the sonic board and his multi-faceted approach to sound and an immense proficiency in a multitude of instruments has broaden his electronic arsenal. Constantly active in the exploration of sound and his founding of the Ethical Recording Studio’s has inevitably led him to a fiend-like interest and fascination with the Moombahton genre. Can’t even begin to imagine the kalediscope array of sounds Ethics will have in store for us at ¡LOCAL-TON!

☛ CATALUXX
Local DJ and Producer CATALUXX is a versatile EDM artist with a focus on electro and house with a Zedd-like approach to sound, however he is always constantly striving to experiment in other scopes of electronic sound. Cataluxx, in conjunction with a couple of friends, runs a moderately successful weekly podcast, Exxiled, which happens to include a couple recent moombah-centric episodes. Around town he has crushed sets at this year’s past Abstract Festival and Relapse Festival and currently he has a couple of releases and remixes available on Beatport.

D-V3KZ has been making his sonic mark across the SoCal and BAJA scenes from more than 10+ years; participating in various events From local San Diego, Down South in Mexico (Tijuana) to Up North L.A. Although his arsenal contains a variety of floor-ready sounds, his productions as of late have been shifted and relatively focused on generating an assortment of his own moombahton originals.
