I have to say it; U-31 is quite possibly my favorite bar in San Diego! Bold statement, I know; but it’s true.

The first time I partied at U-31 a friend dragged me along and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Every time I’ve gone since then, I still don’t. There is always something wacky and unique going on no matter what night of the week it is, and you’ll definitely want to know what that something is!

Like Swing Dancing on April 5th…break out the vintage threads and put on your dancing shoes. So random, but I love it!

You’ll especially want to keep tabs on their calendar because once in a while big name bands will magically appear at the last minute.

Since I’ve been they have updated the space a bit and added to the menu, which is super exciting cuz it was near perfect before and now it’s just that much better. They now offer a wide variety of poshy bar foods; everything from burgers to lettuce wraps and fish tacos. Not only does U-31 have a revamped space and menu, they don’t have the obscene prices that plague the dreaded Gaslamp Land.

This versatile little gem also features monthly local art shows, fashion shows, and loads of charity events; including a drag show benefit for HIV/AIDS. Um…fabulous!

Mix Tip: There’s a photo booth, so bring dolla dolla bills ya’ll!
