Usefulness of: Music Elitists

As much as we find them annoying, we are friends with at least one… or ten! I am talking about the music elitist. More than just the hipster who claims to have known the hot shit before it hit Hypem, music elitists span across every genre and every decade. Some people are stuck on 70s rock and other people think Sufjan Stevens is the greatest thing sliced bread. Whatever your thoughts are on the music elitist, you wouldn’t be listening to the tunes you have on your iPod if it weren’t for them (unless you purely listen to Top 40 or soft rock elevator music). Hell – you might even be a music elitist yourself (in which case you should buy the ridiculous shirt pictured, just sayin’).

When Music Elitists Are Most Useful:
1.) When you are sick of your own music and in need of some good tuneage.
2.) When you want to feel enlightened.
3.) When you want to feel bad about yourself and your lack in taste.
4.) When you need a cool, hip song for your ringtone and ringback.
5.) To have on your good side when you decide to go forward with your musical career.
6.) You’re a bedroom producer and need a song that isn’t overly remixed to remix yourself.
7.) And my personal favorite, when you need a song to convey your emotions for a chick you’re making a mixtape for.
