Dirty Bird resident Worthy has unleashed a new drop, along with a few very note-worthy remixes by Renaissance Man, Femme En Fourrure, and SD’s own Harvard Bass. Following suit to the Frisco-based label’s renowned style, “Big Perm” is housey with a lively array of quirky tech bits and a deep-bass-laden line. This is the anthem for the after-after-party, the kind of tune you’ll be tapping your toes to, come sunrise.

Finnish-duo, Femme En Fourrure drop a twist that is reminiscent to the true BIRD style: a steady-hitting bass-heavy line, building reverbs, and a dash of humor make this surprisingly sultry rendition a very lusty little jam.

Another Finnish pair Renaissance Man‘s remix certainly spans across a few different sonic wavelengths. While the tempo is somewhat groove-worthy, this remix without question aims to please the “experimental-enthusiast”. Where it feels it should build-into a Dutch house banger, it seems to fall short. Right as it almost transitions into tech-house, it takes a grunge-ier turn; and then integrates what sounds like a tapping-stick-esque percussion and a manipulated Darth Vader breath sample that just gives me this an uneasy feeling… Like someone is watching me through the air vent as I type this… It seems Renaissance Man want the listener to anticipate a relentless build into a more interesting and a danceable drop. But when RM does finally deliver a bit of layered contrast, it just doesn’t feel like quite enough… Well, at least for this party girl.
